- Developed and implemented a system integration test plan for major upgrade to the Document Storage and Retrieval system. This project involved establishing a formal test strategy encompassing all stages of the system from the transfer of IBM MVS reports and original scanned documents, through to the PC client viewer. Processes executing on HPUX to mange and route document messages to specific departments and users were included.

Technical Project Manager
Responsible for the operations team supporting 9,000 pharmaceutical representatives.
This team, comprised of several project leaders and 15 support programmers, handles scheduled processing
as well short-term custom projects running on multiple AIX servers.
- Servers for Pfizer were relocated to a new facility in Virginia.
Key objectives achieved during this project included allowing the 9,000 Pfizer users to remain active
during the various stages of the migration.
- Integrated 2,400 member Parke-Davis field force with the 6,400 existing Pfizer representatives.
As the coordinating manager it was necessary to appreciate the sensitive nature of this integration,
which required careful coordination and timing.

server administration. The course covered everything from wire type, NICs,

Supervised team of programmers responsible for the support of the production systems. This project was largely a migration from IBM mainframe to IBM AIX. My prior knowledge of both the mainframe and Unix environment made the difference in making this team successful.

- Coordination of migration from the MVS system environment to OS 390
for this automobile insurance carrier.
- Management of the design and implementation of the CICS claims system
in addition to the batch programs that produced reports and interface
files. Supervision of the team of programmers in addition to participating
in the programming.
- Designed multi-tier version of the property/casualty claims system.
This was done using a HTML user interface, unix Oracle server, and a
mainframe fileserver. Saving $18,000 per month in license fees.
Manager of technical support
System responsibility of the AIX system. This included hardware selection,
installation, and configuration of TCP/IP to the ES9000 mainframe and
throughout the Novell LAN. Had Oracle DBA responsibilities for the AIX
server and Novell Oracle servers.
System support for 8 dual-processor mainframe systems in 2 locations.
These supported over 800 simultaneous users. This included operating
system configurations, system software modification and technical
assistance to the development, operations and production staff

Planned and implemented the migration of our
insurance processing system from an IBM MVS mainframe to a client server
platform. The new system included Novell LAN file servers as well as
Oracle database server.
- Designed a system to receive stock market trades and quotes directly
from SIAC and NASDAQ. This data was then redistributed to end-users.
Management of the team that implemented this system. Wrote the real-time
portion of the system that did the raw data acquisition. This project
was completed ahead of schedule and had better than expected performance.
- Designed and built a second computer center. This project included
plant construction, computer equipment acquisition, installation and
communications. This center was completed on schedule and within budget.
